What is Interior Design?
The official version states that it is about mental planning – taking a space that you do not know how to put together and finding someone who can. An Interior Designer will design a room for a specific person, lifestyle and reason. It is the visual creating of an ambiance – for example, if you would like a cushion, yet can’t make up your mind what fabric to choose you would consult one of our team in the shop. This often leads to further interior design work being carried out around the home or space. People want synergy, to allow someone to quote for a job within their home. Sometimes they start with a Roman Blind which often leads to our working on another item or area within the house.
We specialise in creating themes, something simple, elegant, spontaneous, cosy, and minimalist.
As interior designers we delight in seeing the customer have fun. We have fun. Creativity gets going and as a designer it is fulfilling to see in reality what a customer had previously only dreamt of.
We have a fabric room, paints, carpet samples – we can organise removals, source items, antique, modern, and reproduction. We work with a small team of upholsterers who work to our specification, which is our strength. If you have a vision of something we will draw and design it, after which we can have it made up for you.
We can work within a budget, the smaller budgets can be catered for, obviously the larger the budget the more selective and creative we can be with choice of fabrics and materials used. We are mindful of this area because, as designers we get excited, the bigger the budget the more choice, however being creative also means that we can come up with a great look where smaller budgets apply.
